Royal Manas National Park is the Bhutan's oldest protected areas. It was established as Game Sanctuary in early 1960's and in 1964, it was declared as the Wild Life Sanctuary and in 1993, it was further upgraded to National Park.








Royal Manas National Park covers 1057 sq.km and it is home to more than 900 species of vascular plants and 60 species of mammals and 431 species of birds. Some of the world endangered animals like tiger, golden languor are found in this park.Large mammals like Asiatic Water Buffalo, Gaur, Sambar, and Asian elephant are common sight in the park. Eight different species of cat are also found in the Park.
